At Chukyo High School, each class makes its own uniform for the sports festival. These uniforms often have special meanings for the students. Some classes put their classmates ’ names or the sports they play, such as volleyball, table tennis, foot baseball, or softball. Others add lyrics from famous Japanese songs or even pictures of their homeroom teacher. Because each class chooses different ideas, we can see many unique themes during the festival. This makes the event more fun and meaningful for everyone.
From here on, I am going to introduce my class uniform. When we first started to think about it, we wanted something that would help us remember our time in high school even after we graduate. So, we decided to put childhood photos of our classmates on the shirt. These pictures show how much we have grown, and they remind us of our past and our journey together. We also included photos of teachers who are important to the international course. We wanted to show our appreciation for their support.
The theme of our uniform is “Love.” From the day we entered school, our class has had a strong bond, almost like a family. Not only our classmates but also our teachers are like family to us, and they are truly important in our lives. The phrase “We are family” has been important to us, and it expresses how close we are. Because of this, our uniform feels very special. It shows our strong connection and the warm feelings we have for one another.
Wearing the uniform at the sports festival made it even more valuable. When I look at it, many memories come back to me. I remember moments when we fell down, moments when someone made an amazing play, and moments when we cheered for our classmates. These memories make me smile and remind me of how hard everyone worked. In the end, the boys’ volleyball team lost in the first round, and the girls’ team reached the semifinals. We didn’t win first place, but that is not what matters the most. What matters is the time we spent practicing together after school, helping each other, and doing our best as a team.
Today, many people make custom T-shirts, but I believe our class made the best one. I can say that with confidence because our uniform is filled with love, memories, and the strong bond we share.
